The cat gets fresh water daily but wants to drink out of the bathroom sink. Water, soap, and toothpaste. Yum.

They like running water. Apparently there are water dishes for cats that provide this as a feature.
Another thing you can and should do anyways is add water to their food. Even if it's kibble. That's how they got most of their water in nature, through food.
My cat actually prefers her kibble with a few ounces of water added now. Idk if they have a sense for things being watered down like we do, at least my cat certainly doesn't.
Its the minerals. Maybe put a tiny bit of toothpaste in her bowl (super tiny)?
Don't do that. They just go after places that smell like you. Give them water in a used glass.l if you have to.
My cat, a 3 year old tuxedo, does this strange yawn-meow when itβs time for dinner. Itβs a combination of him meowing mixed with a full wide mouthed yawn. Its especially funny because he only does it once per night shortly before feeding and he typically has a chirpy meow anyway.
When my cat is hungry and I'm at my computer, she will put her front paws up on my chair and then gently tap my leg to ask "food plz". She increases in frequency over time.
I adopted a cat a couple of months ago. Every time I run a sink she comes running. It's like her call or something. I don't know what she's expecting.
She takes great joy in licking the condensation off the sides of any disposable cup I'm holding.
They do luv their condensations
One of the cats likes to run out to the hallway of my apartment complex and roll on the carpet, for several minutes straight
