Linkage?
What the fuck else have I missed today?
Something about hyperlinking a link twice seems to have messed with it, at least on my end. I'd suggest just posting the link as is without the formatting.
Fixed it, and it hyperlinks on its own. Why have a link icon in the editor when it's not necessary? I tried to figure out the fediverse shortcut for links (since it's a post in lemmy.world but I see it through fedia.io making a mess of the url), but it doesn't seem to be universal yet either.
Afaik, there's currently no instance-neutral way to link to a post unfortunately. As for the link icon, that's used to turn part of a comment into a link without posting the whole url for space and/or aesthetic reasons. Like this.
Also, it looks like there's still an issue on the Lemmy-UI with that url. I wonder what's up with that.
So, uhh, this is wild: https://apnews.com/live/trump-shooting-west-palm-beach-updates#00000191-f7ea-d09f-a59f-f7ff80380000
Routh was convicted in 2002 of possessing a weapon of mass destruction, according to online North Carolina Department of Adult Correction records. The records do not provide details about the case.
Convicted, not just accused. Crazy. Either a lot of powerful people really hated this guy or there's more to this story we'll never know.
Edit: I just smoked a joint and I get it now. He's probably a professional fall guy. This is what he does for a living.
Considering that this happened shortly after the SCOTUS Roberts leak, that theory is far from crazy. The “drown the crazy with more crazy” tactic was the Trump admin’s go-to tactic for basically the entire term.
Whoooa, WTF. So he's just out and about casually attempting assassinations and not in jail? I saw elsewhere he was fighting as a volunteer in Ukraine as well. Dude really seems to want to murder people.
I had read that he had gone to Ukraine multiple times to try to fight, I have not read anything about him actually fighting.
Looks like the article was updated:
Routh was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon of mass destruction, “referring to a fully automatic machine gun,” according to the News & Record.
Thanks, that's still horrifying, but it's not straight from bizarro world.
I wonder if "fully auto machine gun" refers to a glock with a switch. You could buy a "totally not a switch" off ebay cheap.
Technically a machine gun by definition uses a rifle caliber
I assume the radio silence on Twitter and Truth is because there are like five aides and advisors physically keeping Trump from his phone with their bodies and hiding his access to any communications technologies, so he doesn't give his followers the "kill" command.
Another Boogaloo taking a shot at him?
I got no issue with people putting some fear in war criminals.
