The US has a “biblical” duty to support Israel’s annexation of the occupied West Bank, former US President Donald Trump’s ambassador to Israel argues in a new book, unveiling a plan for “one Jewish state" that he said he would share with Trump.

“President Trump has often said that he was indifferent to one state or two states - whatever the parties might agree to,” former US ambassador David Friedman writes in the book, One Jewish State: The Last, Best Hope to Resolve the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

“His goals always were practical and targeted toward tangible improvements in the quality of life. I believe that if Israel will support this plan, he will as well,” according to a copy of the book obtained by The Forward.

Friedman argues the US should support Israel’s annexation “based first and foremost on biblical prophecies and values”, saying that such a policy “hearkens back to basic Judeo-Christian values of kindness, human dignity, humility and prosperity”.

Friedman told The Forward he will share his annexation plan with Trump “at the appropriate time”.

Judeo-Christian values of kindness, human dignity, humility and prosperity

Islam is also an Abrahamic religion.

And they couldn't give less of a shit about the Judeo part.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 weeks ago

Or the Christian for that matter. "Judeo-Christian" is code for the colonizer cultures with Western European origins.

"Biblocal prophecies," you say? Hmm. What prophecy in the Bible pertains to what's supposed to happen when Jews are in complete control of the Holy Land? It couldn't possibly be that they believe they need to support Israel so that Armageddon happens and they get raptured up into heaven, could it?

Nah. That'd be completely irrational and would show that the people who believe that have no right to be deciding policy for the future of the planet since they're planning on leaving it as soon as possible.

I'm from the Midwest. This is 100% what they actually believe

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad and ironic.

... hearkens back to basic Judeo-Christian values of kindness, human dignity, humility and prosperity.

He said one Jewish state for a reason. And it isn't a "one state solution" reason. It's the reason so many evangelicals support Israel: they want to banish all Jews in the world to Israel because they think that's one of the steps needed to bring Jesus back.

One massive global ethnic cleansing.

This guy has a biblical duty to fuck off and die.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

And a constitutional one too.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

"Biblical Duty"? I've actually read the bible. Twice. The word "America" was not mentioned anywhere.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It used to be spelled in a kaleidoscope of native american languages. Have you tried searching for biblical treaties?

It used to be spelled in a kaleidoscope of native american languages.

What do these have to do with the Bible?

Have you tried searching for biblical treaties?

What kind of "treaties"? Or is that some kind of Evangelical junk dribble?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Just ban all religion. This crap needs to end.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Soviet Russia tried that. Didn't stop people believing in Christianity. And their anti-theist government wasn't exactly perfect.

Maybe human ideology is the issue.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

Tell that to the Russian Orthodox Church! But I definitely agree that humans are ultimately the problem… with everything.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

China did that. They built some vocational centers in Xinijang to "re-educate" religious people. That sure solved everything.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

One day you’re standing up for China, and the next you’re kicking it around. I’m beginning to think you just like talking shit to cause trouble. 😘

Human rights isn't a game of picking sides where they don't matter if your own side is violating them. Though for most voters that sure seems to be the case.

If only there was some term for a group of people glorifying and praising every aspect of something in a cult-like fashion...

[–] [email protected] -1 points 2 weeks ago

Wumao works for me.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Not everything is black and white.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

You don't need to ban it. Just ignore it. Take away their voice from government, like it was supposed to be.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Well yes, but that isn’t going to happen.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There is no god and the bible and all other religious books are made up. I hope this helps.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Keep your make believe to yourselves...or else?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Ehhh maybe stop killing people using it as the scapegoat? We're kind of flexible.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I don’t think we should be taking advice on anything from religious people. It simply doesn’t make sense to listen to people who are delusional at best, and maniacal at worst

Edit and I think it’s inherently antisemitic to say that the only reason the Jewish people deserve a homeland is because of religion. No, Jews deserve a place to call their own, and it’s fair that it should be where it is currently because of their historic ties to the region. Neighboring ME countries should accept it and move on. The rise of Zionism had, and still has, roots in European antisemitism, so I don’t believe this Judeo Christian fraternity for a second.

It's ok Arabs that say they won't vote for Harris. Here you go. Take the other edge of the sword and just sign your own death warrant.

Well they're busy shitting all over the constitution, democracy, the rule of law, common fucking decency, common sense, voters, and the English language - the establishment clause was bound to catch some splatter.
