Oh dear I remember playing around with explosives as a kid, chlorine, break fluid, tin foil, that kinda thing. Then we started playing around with acetone and peroxide, trying to make a touch explosive. I count my blessings that we didn't do it correctly, as I absolutely would have lost a hand. I don't know how you can explain to some people the risks associated with this kinda stuff, the book we were using called the touch explosive "Mother of Satan". If that didn't dissuade us...

Wow, you were a dumbass kid (just like me, if I had had access to that kind of stuff). Glad you're still with us, hopefully with all limbs intact.

I remember my buddy doing this and getting stitches on his hand and shoulder. We were 10, kids can be dumb sometimes.

I'm kind of impressed they made a whole ignition system with a battery and everything tbh.

Who among us didn't experiment with stupid pyrotechnics in childhood. There but for the grace of God go I. Wishing them a speedy recovery.

This reminds me it's probably time to talk to my kid about not setting things on fire in the house

High-school memories of extracting gunpower from bullets and making pipe-bombs. I also experimented with electronic detonators. Fun stuff and blossomed a life-long interest in chemistry. But yea really dangerous.

Is this what they show on Youtube Kids these days? Back to Spiderman and Elsa it is.
