yeah I agree. They went for a more understated, realistic vibe (why so serious?) but it just ended up being boring. Too many origin stories we've already seen. Too much Gotham politics we've already seen. Not enough batman-ing. It was a stark contrast to other recent DC series with fresh takes like Harley Quinn and Adventures with Superman.

I don't understand its purpose. It's a retro style 1950s Batman animated show? May as well go watch TAS at that point. It just seems like it's too similar to TAS without the charm of it.
It feels like they were trying to capture the TAS audience as adults and forgot that cartoons are supposed to be fun.
I'm not sure how I feel about the voice acting from the actor voicing Batman. It just feels kinda flat and bored. I know he's going for something like a stoic depth but it lacks the depth? I think it's fine in his Bruce Wayne public voice, but once it's his Batman voice it's a bit lifeless.
Haven't watched it yet, don't have any high hopes for it after watching the trailer and clips Amazon prime posted on YouTube.
Seems like DC execs have forgotten that Batman has other villains, he has filled an asylum with them.
Give me an animated show with Dr Freeze or Ra's al Ghul or Court of owls.

I watched a couple episodes of the new Harley Quinn animated show last night with a friend and it seems like that fits your description, it's pretty fucking funny too
