No, they’ve repeatedly shown that they don’t, but it’s still funny. Plus, age was made SUCH a big deal that I think some undecided voters (it’s hard to believe that any still exist, but they do) might decide to go for Harris.

It was never about Joe's age. It was everything about finding an easily identifiable "flaw" and running it at the mill. If not for being old, they would have just used something else. Bullying 101.
If anything, the introduction of a fresh candidate means their pundits will have an easier time coming up with new material.
