It all started with:

Update - Fix has been deployed, Slack integrations are recovering

Nov 03, 2023 - 17:22 UTC

This is why you don't release on a Friday!

Curious what you think an alternative is for enterprises. You can self host rocket chat, sure, but sometimes you just can’t afford a devops team just for internal tools. Slack is cheap and easy.

I don't need to have a better option in mind in order to denigrate a current option. I use slack for work also and it sucks ass, even harder after this awful new GUI update.

Its a garbage ass app that constant crashes, then requires authentication again, which is a 50/50 if it will work.

Maybe these lazy fucking developers should stop using Chrome (or Electron? Idk what it based on, but its something) as a basis and actually write their own full program.

Not two hours ago I declined a PR because it was a huge change on Friday.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Why not just wait to merge it Monday?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

'cause stupid corporate policy and metrics mean an unreviewed PR is bad for me, and an unmerged PR is bad for the submitter.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You'd think declined PRs would be more of a metric to deter bad PRs from happening?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago

This would be a logical step and we don't do that here.
Please stop being logical.

Hoping for a quick recovery

The memory leak under high load caused pods to crash repeatedly...

Should have used rust

I've recently changed jobs and my new company uses GitHub for everything, including "projects", its wannabe kanban boards, and I'm truly appalled at how bad they are. They've been out for many years, yet they lack the most basic features, like a decent API, or hierarchical relationships between tickets, or a simple integration between the board and the ticket status... Like what are they thinking!?

Yeah, GitHub has some issues alright.

You're using old GitHub projects, new projects are much better and well integrated

No, I'm using the new projects (V2). Half-baked at best.

First Cloudflare, now Github!
