In one clip, Neumaier was seen singing the Nazi-era German national anthem along with ...

I find this more so much more disturbing

It's still the German anthem, it's not especially Nazi.

Are you saying the modern German anthem is the same as the Nazi era German anthem?

More or less. The Deutschlandlied) is the hymn of Germany since before the Nazi era, wasn't changed by the Nazis and still is today. But today only the third stanza is officially the hymn. However, people often sing the first one, which is the most well known.

During the Nazi era, there were a second hymn, which is more directly linked to this ideology.

However, people often sing the first one

Correction: Nazis - and only nazis - often sing the first one.

Are you sure? I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time, but I have the impression that people sing easily “Deutschland über alles”.

(For context, I never lived in Germany, but always near the border, so I have sometimes a distorted vision of what occurs there)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The first stanza is not officially banned but it's only really sung by nazis or edgy teenagers.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Okay, thank you both for the correction !

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Wow, it is refreshing to see someone recognize being mistaken, accept the correction, and be thankful to have learned something, so thank you as well.

but I have the impression that people sing easily “Deutschland über alles”.

What the fuck?

Dude, please connect to some Germans that aren't Nazis.

The "Horst-Wessel-Lied", also known by its opening words "Die Fahne hoch", was the anthem of the Nazi Party from 1930 to 1945. From 1933 to 1945, the Nazis made it the de-facto co-national anthem of Nazi Germany, along with the first stanza of the "Deutschlandlied". The "Horst-Wessel-Lied" has been banned in Germany and Austria since the end of World War II.

Yes. But this politician sang the Deutschlandlied, not the Horst-Wessel-Lied.

Martin Neumaier, The Free Democratic Party (FDP) candidate for the district of Ostalb

Licking toilets is a fetish with no other people involved or harmed. Gross is an understatement in this case but whatever.

Much bigger problem is fdp, those are a highly professionalised bunch of assholes who systematically destroy democracy and sense of community in Germany. They are a threat to the country like cdu and afd.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Thank you! It feels good to hear someone calling FDP assholes destroying the sense of community. FDP is working hard on keeping the working class poor, powerless and desperate. Trying to "save money" on the most disadvantaged people is disgusting. This alone is enough reason to disapprove of them.

I'd be more grossed out if I had to sit on a toilet seat that was licked by an FDP member than by someone licking the toilet seat.

In one clip, Neumaier was seen singing the Nazi-era German national anthem along with "m*********** rectally with a s** toy."

He also made a mustache from feces while roleplaying as the former Chancellor Adolf Hitler in one more such footage.

That ought to do it

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Reading the title, I wasn’t sure if it was a sex thing or if he was demonstrating the cleanliness of German public toilets.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Trust me, most German public toilets are disgusting. Railway station toilets aren't even free and a lot of them suck. The ones within a train? Even more disgusting. (If you're lucky enough to find one that's not closed for repair anyway.)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago

Kinda feel like they're burying the lede on the whole Hitler shitstache situation. That seems worse than any toilet bowl and brush licking.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Well, this is different. In America our politicians lick boots.

I want to know, because I'm only human, but I also don't want to click and have this in my FBI guy's file on me…
