Advertising doesn't work on me, because I see no ads.
I can think of one time in the last decade an add influenced me to shop, that resulted in a sale. I can think of literal countless times an advert has annoyed me to the point I would never shop the product they are showing again.
When advertising is done right, you don't know it influenced you. That's why it's scary.
There seems to be an inverse relationship between how often one sees/hears an ad, and the quality of the product being advertised.

I can still hear "It's peanut butter jelly time!" whenever I see it lol
Same and it’s kinda fun. New games and movies come out all the time without me knowing anything about them.

I don't see ads unless I'm using someone else's TV. And then it pisses me off
I get irrationally angry if I'm even in a room where there are ads.
