This scene made me wonder how effective recycling is in Trek. If a pocket watch can be recycled to make a meal or boots, well damn, that's like 500% effectiveness?

So they can make new shuttles just by recycling old shuttles or anything else, and always have more shit left over.

I just assume on the between episodes tone they're gathering dilithium and rare metals that they can't replicate efficiently.

Efficiency isn't that important when you've got a warp core and can frequently find fuel.

Voyager some times stops to mine deuterium so they can refuel and replicate more stuff.
