The male who did this had known mental illness.
The mental health system in Canada needs to VASTLY improve.
To be honest it barely even exists now.
I know this from experience.
My interactions with the public mental health system have all made me worse.
SOME of my interactions with the private system helped but most people do not have adequate coverage to even access that.
We are turning away from people with mental illness and this is what we get.
We (as a society) caused this.
