I'm very much aware. The problem is that's not at all what this story is about, so you're introducing irrelevant info into the thread.
How is it not related? They both affect and reflect our relations with Ukraine?
You are arguing with a mod and journalist of nearly 30 years. I am not going to go into a treatise on why your point is correct but not correct for this discussion.
Can you explain what you meant to imply by this? It's just coming off as a veiled threat that you'll ban me for arguing with you as I'm reading it.
I speak plainly. There is no implied threat. I'm simply stating that my experience makes me suited to know when a fact is useful in a discussion.
your experience as a lemmy moderator?
that is not "speaking plainly"
I don't think there's any way to be taken any other way than beeing an entitled asshat, so let's start there.
This is my career. I mean, it was, but newspapers aren't what they once were. So when a random chance encounter led me to lead U.S. News, I couldn't really resist.
Let's not presume one's journey.
What about moderation makes that so more than the average users experience? If anything I would think the biases and repetitive nature would do the opposite.
Modding is honestly a few more minutes a day than just being a twice-a-day user. That's how I fell into this!
I love it when the trash takes itself out 🤣
Allow me a treatise on why you should play hide and go fuck yourself.
So what if you're a mod? That doesn't mean that you're right. Where the fuck do you get off threatening another user who makes a point you don't like just because you have mod power?
Real "because I said so!“ vibes. You're weird.
You've been here long enough to know this is a card I play as a last resort. The fact remains the topic on the user's mind is irrelevant to the topic of the thread. Just post a new one if that's what you want to discuss. Like, I'm going to nix the Second Punic War should it come up for the same reason.
We are here for focused discussion. I'm not going to suddenly be like "what if I lowered the standards?"
You know our only rule here -> be(e) nice. Telling someone to go F themselves isn’t nice. You’ve been warned.
