I just don't understand it for games where the primary draw is difficulty. Like, if you take the difficulty out of a game like Dark Souls...it's not really all that good? The game has good atmosphere and an interesting story if you're willing to engage it, but both of those are inherently tied to the difficulty of the game. The idea is that you're struggling to succeed in the face of a dying world, and it all falls apart without the struggle.

Whereas if you're playing something like the Sims 4 or like GTA where the point is just to screw around, totally understand why you wanna add cheats or mods. It's your power fantasy, tune it how you like. But if you just want to turn a game like Dark Souls into a power fantasy, IMO there's so many better games out there for you to play that will give you a better experience.

I suppose you might be right. I've never tried a souls-like because they don't seem like my cup of tea but for a game where the point is specifically difficulty that would take most of the enjoyment out to remove all difficulty
