A place to share alternatives to popular online services that can be self-hosted without giving up privacy or locking you into a service you don't control.

does anyone have a good suggestion for running a mail server on my nixos box?

i feel the same way, its a pain but once it works, it general stays working. i think i have a decent static IP so i should be good. i just havent done this for a long time and now i want to use nix instead of whatever i was using before.

Personally I'm running postfix+dovecot+amavis -setup managed by ispconfig3 running on a Debian VPS from hetzner. I think more important than having a 'clean' IP is to have clean domain name attached to it, but your mileage may vary.
