The non-voters are just as culpable as directly voting for Trump.
They were so concerned about a genocide in another country that wasn't going to change regardless of the election outcome, they ushered in genocide to our own country.
They are not. And this is an excuse to take responsibility from Biden and his administration. Trump should be in prison But Biden's administration was the one tasked with doing that and did fuck all. Even when the Supreme Court gave him absolute power to do anything as president, he still didn't bother to arrest Trump.
Democrats in power don't actually give a shit about the issues they pretend. And those that would vote for them are tired of excuses.
Republicans have been working toward this current result for years - sowing doubt in journalism, disenfranchising voters that they know are unlikely to vote for them, stacking courts so they can counter the inevitable legal pushback. Democrats failed to stop this, but blaming them for these issues is disingenuous - they didn't design this mess.
You're in a car heading toward a cliff, complaining that nobody has pulled the emergency brake. Yet the driver, whose foot is firmly planted on the accelerator, who fights anybody else who tries to touch the controls, is absolved of responsibility.
To clarify - the "driver" isn't merely Trump, but the result of the practices stated in the first paragraph. Any suitable puppet would have worked. The system has been rigged, and it isn't the Democrats who did it.
This car has been heading towards that cliff for 8+ years now. Meanwhile I, and every other voter and non-voter are in the trunk. Unable to do anything outside of shout from the trunk what we want. Short of breaking free there's nothing that can be done. Those that can actually stop the car won't bother.
They are. We all knew the dangers of Trump getting back into the Whitehouse. It hasn't even been 2 weeks and he's already well on his way to a fascist takeover of the government.
If you really thought that not voting was helping Palestinians at all, you're really fucking stupid and actually made things much worse for them.
The Israeli genocide is awful, but it wasn't even in the top ten major issues facing our country.
Again, if Palestine was your single issue that caused you not to vote, you're a moron and in every way as culpable for the damage he does as his supporters.
Erroneously passing the buck onto principled non-voters doesn't address Biden or Democrats inability to do anything during their tenure about Trump. And as of right now the Israeli genocide is as armed now as before Biden was in office. You can look at my other comments for sources.
You can feel however you want. But ultimately those with power failed you. And if you thought voting was going to save the US you're incredibly naive. The fascist streak in the US was never going to end with Trump. What we're seeing now is horrifically inevitable. Simply because those in power did nothing to stop it.
All of that was irrelevant at election time. The only thing that would stop Trump at that point was voting for his only viable opponent.
Yes, the Biden administration failed to do their job and stop Trump, but the American people did the same thing.
This isn't a zero sum game. Biden is culpable, and the people who didn't vote for Harris are culpable. They aren't mutually exclusive.
And I'm telling you, yet again, non-voters are in no way culpable. It was Biden's job, and then Kamala's job to gain voters. And they both did so terrible we ended up with Trump again. And again, if you think voting will save the US from fascism you're incredibly naive.
Also, it was never irrelevant. Again, the Supreme Court gave Biden immense power through their official acts ruling. He did absolutely nothing with it. He could have thrown Trump in prison and said tough shit. But he didn't, and now we have Trump again.
I guess you're one of the culpable morons who didn't vote.
Again, both Biden and the voters are responsible for Trump being in power. Stop trying to pretend that not voting was some noble action. It wasn't. It directly led to trump being the president.
Also, the democrats running a bad campaign is a monumentally stupid excuse for ushering in fascism.
It was objectively noble, it didn't support genocide. Meanwhile democrats did nothing to stop fascism or genocide and I'm supposed to blame non-voters for this? You all think voting would magically save us. As if it wouldn't just be another 4 years before the next "biggest election of our lifetimes."
