Question - do sovcits not own printers? So many of these things they write up are hand written. Must be tiring being a sovcit.
Handwriting the magical runes is an important part of the ritual to banish the armed government agents and child support payments.
Those red squiggles that are under some words break the spell. The only things that are allowed to be in red are thumbprint and specific words written at 45°. They can't make the red squiggles go away, so they have to write by hand
Can't trust technology. The lizards are watching.
To be fair if there was any piece of mundane home technology that people have a good reason not to trust withouot thinking about any of it much, printers are probably top of the list
