When I was in California, I saw perfectly peeled lemons lying under a friend's lemon tree. He told me the rats did it - they ate the peel but were very careful not to bite into the sour inside.
How very nice and thoughtful of them ๐
And they say Ratatouille is fiction...

There's bound to be a market for that. I'd love to buy peeled lemons if the peeling came at little to no additional cost.
That's interesting. Zested lemon (finely grated lemon peel) has a pretty strong flavor too. I guess it's not as intensely sour though.
