No idea. I‘d say your mistake was coming to reddit for help in gaming. Lemmy isnt better but i think the gaming subs are quite brutal.
Some of them are great, I've gotten a lot of help from Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress subs and the DRG sub is nice.
But yeah the majority of the subs get absolutely toxic
