Along with AI advances in Windows 11 and Bing, Microsoft also this week announced it's bringing new AI-powered features to its SwiftKey mobile keyboard

Sadly Google Keyboard is the only good keyboard app left. I have internet permission blocked on it so I have actual privacy, and there's not too much bloat. I was excited by a really nice FOSS keyboard app called FlorisBoard, but unfortunately it looks like it was abandoned right before they released the update that fixed auto correct. They even had glide typing working.

Openboard was good but got abandoned a year-ish ago, but there's a fork of it now that I'd highly recommend checking out, they have glide typing but you have to manually install it but it's a really easy install. I switched from gboard and I've been using it for about a month or two happily.

Archive links in case the link is down: GhostArchive / Archive.ph / Archive.org

Edit: Installing the glide typing makes it partially non-foss because it uses Google's glide typing library, which is also why it has to be manually installed.

The one thing that keeps me on Gboard is the swipe-from-backspace. The way you can select multiple words depending on how far you swipe is such a great feature.

Last I checked SwiftKey (finally) got it as well, but it felt far less accurate.
Samsung's keyboard only has the hold-to-delete-quicker which is just awful.

Nice, I've been using it for years and didn't even know about this feature!
