in 50 years shitposts will be the fine wine of culture just you wait
Today we have shitposts and shit posts, but in 50 years we'll have differing genres named from geographical places. All with their own subtle differences depending on the conditions of the surrounding area.
And historians will debate whether it's a real shitpost unless it comes from the shitty region of the internet, else it's just sparkling memes.
The EU will have protection laws for memes from certain internet regions, anyone can make a shitpost in the style of lemmyshitpost, but only lemmyshitpost can claim their memes as of original origin.
Those of other origin can name them something else but unless they're on the list they receive no protection against copying if they make something original to their region.
In my area we call them feces funnies!
