This is the best summary I could come up with:
Former Sydney teacher Chris Dawson has been sentenced to up to three years in jail for having unlawful sexual activity with an underage student.
The woman, who for legal reasons can only be referred to as AB, gave evidence of them first kissing in Dawson's car in 1980 when she was 16 and, within weeks, having sexual activity in his parents' Maroubra house.
Dawson did not dispute that there was sexual activity when she was a student, or that it began when he was still married to his wife, Lynette Simms, but said the girl had already turned 17.
The court also heard he has mental health problems and has been taunted by other prisoners while serving his current 24-year sentence for murdering Lynette, who vanished in 1982.
It also heard Dawson maintains his innocence in relation to the carnal knowledge and murder charges and his earliest release date will be when he is aged in his 90s.
Dawson appeared in court via video from Long Bay jail in prison greens, with his hands partially covering his face and at times biting his fingernails.
