Which is why we need to be, as well.

Oh noes! A group of neighbors goes to the range weekly, grows food in gardens, and learns first aid... You're right, they'll drop firebombs on us like the did to MOVE.
I mean, it is what it is. My activities have been pretty openly discussed elsewhere, and apparently, it never tripped a background check. Not with the IRS, Dept of Education, Dept of the Treasury, TS-SCIF clearances, etc etc...
Wny do you think we are doing weekly range days now?
Enjoy your evening. I mean that honestly.
She is "Lawful Evil"...
They are going to do that regardless of a pardon happening or not. Remember, they tried it 4 years ago, in our own little Beer Hall Putsch.
I already am... My community, and myself, have already started putting into action plans to help us through this: Bolstering our mutual aid network, doing first aid classes, hitting the range weekly now, planning our block gardens, etc etc.
The "public's opinion" is of very little concern without a threat of violence to back it up.
Ok, now I see you just wanna argue. Have a good time then.
For all the failures of the US, or other liberal democracies... Yes, they can vote fascism right into power, and we have, in the US, and in Germany in the 1930's too.
However, let's not pretend this is exclusive to liberal democracies... Lest we forget how quickly the oligarchs captured the socialist movement in Russia in the 1910's. Not even two years post-revolution, the Soviets were also murdering the working class for high crimes such as "Doing a labor strike" or "Daring to use a system other than Leninism"...
Literally voting for your reps is not what the government of Russia is, though... So, yes, representative democracies are sub-optimal, but they are better than a straight up oligarchy, which means "People with money and power have all the say".
We waited to long, and welcomed them to often and openly, for the alternatives to work now.
