Did this with an 09 MacBook, installed Debian 12 with XFCE, and everything just worked with no additional setup!

Imagine Breaking Bad, but mimed

You sound like a buddy of mine from high school. Great guy, I'd love to see what he's up to now, but last I heard it was super secret, like he's trying to build his own kernel and he doesn't want anyone to copy him, I guess.

Anyways, ELI5? Any good reason I should use your system instead of Debian 12 and normal hardening practices? You talk about "Linuxification" like it's a bad thing, can you expand on that idea? Most people use PCs for gaming or media purposes, how do you address that issue?

I mean, you could get a closer gig. Even if it pays less, the free time is worth it. My commute is 30 min-1hr and I still hate it. Wish I'd kept the job that was a seven-minute walk away from my house.

More loops necessary, then.

I mean, dehydrated zombies are just mummies, right?

So, we need a new internet community, with barriers against "normies", so that only people with tech knowledge or friends of such can get in? Pretty much sounds like we're already here. A few years ago I would've said "try the dark web" but TOR browser's pretty much made that easy. Plus bitcoin's way too volatile to spend now, and the eth rates are ridiculous. But, if you ask for shady, you get shady.

Nowadays, I recommend decentralized networks and self-hosting wherever possible. I personally can't do it due to my living conditions, but as soon as I can break free of this place I will absolutely have the best home setup I can get at a reasonable price, and I'll donate my excess compute time to BOINC.

Sand is very important to our microchip infrastructure, I've heard we're running out of the correct sorta sand to do the things correctly.
