If you aren't anti-oppression or anti-apartheid you aren't progressive

What do you mean war, the west bank is not controlled by hamas.

This is brutalisation by an occupying force on a population living in an Israeli controlled Bantustan.

Capitalism has been also associated with stagnation(recessions, austerity, stagflation or economies such as Japan's), hunger(poverty, famines), neighbours turning neighbours to secret police(Americans reporting people who have gotten abortions), and at least 20 year wide gap in the mindsets of people compared to their western peers(read this one as conservative Americans and other similar countries vs more liberal and social democracy style countries). It's inherently violent(state violence eg. police in protecting property), authoritarian ideology. Facisms rising popularity in the developed world is a feature of capatilim.

Palestinian is an ethnicity.

Gaza is a ghetto.

Israel is ethnic cleansing.

While I agree with you about Hamas, the fact you don't apply the same logic to the IDF is very telling. A country that believes a whole group of people are less than human and wants them eradicated absolutely intends every casualty it inflicts.

Israeli snipers murder innocent children, journalists and medical staff because of evil intentions.

Israeli bombs dropped on one of the densest populated areas which are bound to inflict civilian casualties are doing their intended evil.

The choice to turn off the electricity even though it will guarantee deaths in hospitals is not bad luck and is evil.

Israel is evil.

In fact if we're going by civilian casualties Israel is like 36x more evil.

HTTPS is definitely not a major reason the web turned corporate. It has its problems for sure though.

Look at Gemini if you want an example of a decent web ecosystem that has HTTPS as a requirement for the protocol.

Gemini benefits from two things that the web has lost:

  • small size: just like the web was once small, Gemini is still too small for any copos to consider it as an option to push their content or services although I believe there has been some small examples of this being tried.
  • simple browser spec: Gemini benefits from having a number of browsers, none of which implement anything as interactive or insecure as JS(mime types other than gem text tend to be opened by other applications) and no one browser is influencing the spec for their own goals. This means all Gemini content is static once loaded by the client. No injected ads, no scraping of data and no hijacking of the tech by private companies.

Not starving millions of people right on their doorstep is not highest on their list of priorities?

It's pretty easy to not cut off their power supply that they control.

It's pretty easy to stop carpet bombing civilians (including the banned use of phosphorus weapons near densely populated areas which happened yesterday)

It's pretty easy to not stop humanitarian aid.

It's pretty easy to stop blockading them.

It's pretty easy to stop killing them indiscriminately.

They just choose not to do the right thing.

There were two 'Reigns of Terror,' if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the 'horrors' of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break?

What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror--that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.

You understand food has to come from somewhere and Israel controls the sea, the air and most of the land while bombing the fuck out of the people and infrastructure.
