It's not a "QAnon-esque conspiracy theory". Russia's online influence in American politics has been fairly well documented. That being said, I think it's somewhat unhealthy to assume everyone who says something controversial is dishonest or a troll. Not good for discourse.

I think it's more indicative of how absurd 60° celsius is that it seems like it must be Fahrenheit.

This announcement doesn't have anything to do with cryptocurrencies or nfts. I'm not sure if I like the idea yet either, but please don't conflate it with all that other scammy nonsense.

"authoritarianism isn't real" is the funniest take I've heard this year. I suggest you take a break from the internet.

This seems pretty clearly AI-written. Which I suppose isn't inherently an issue except that this takes a single thought ("AUR has more packages than NixOS") and stretches it out to multiple paragraphs without adding any additional value. Why do this? A lemmy post doesn't need to look like a blog post from some tech company. Just state your thought or ask a question and post it. This format does nothing but waste the time of readers.

Though I am with you in hating Western Big Tech apologia, I don't agree with this point overall. Even the sources you linked show that TikTok collects an ungodly amount of data on its users. The Clario study shows that it's in 6th place... is being lower than Facebook and Instagram supposed to be an accomplishment? And it's much higher than Twitter and Zoom, which is definitely not a good thing.
