They would make more money by operating as normal. Collapsing the stock market is going to make it worse for them.
Chasing profit is how we got here. This shouldn't be the basis of the decision. If it's the only thing we can use to drag conservatives along though, I guess it'll have to do.
Struggling economically, which includes grocery prices, is absolutely what a lot of people voted for.

People are struggling with constantly increased cost of living here, and that is part of why ignorant moderate voters switched sides even though Trump is the worst answer.
