For some of these systems, I don't understand why they are not running openbsd like medical equipment that should be as secure as possible... And more broadly, most of the world depending on one OS and its environment is only a path for disasters (this one, wanna cry, spying from three letters agencies...)

A simple way to do it is to stop considering them as platform providers but editors and it shou'd be done in my opinion because by their recommandation systems, they are making editing choices.

In this particular case it could be to just keep it as its silence meaning. And more generally it could be associating it with more positive symbols like the lgbtq flag, or a socialist rose in France (this is a poor example because the fren socialist party always betray but it is the spirit). If each time they start to use a symbol we stop using it, they the only possibility left for the symbol is to be for the far right. But if you keep using it for the original meaning, it should be good. It happens with the triskell (beton symbol). It was used by a SS section from britain but now it is still used to represent Bretagne (like the gwen Ha-Du)

Imagine losing all symbols to far right because as soon as they start using it you do not fight...

Truth is : either they are a infrastructure provider and they allow everything inside the free speech of each country they operate in, either they choose what gets promoted or is allowed differently from the local free speech and they are an editor. They can't (and imho should never have been allowed to) choose only the benefits of each one without any obligation.

I recently found a video talkkng about privacy. One of the topic was that privacy does not ring any bell in people's mind. Contrary to intimacy. Maybe we should all replace privacy by intimacy so we can tell what is really implied to non software people
