You're advocating for running private services on the default ports?

I have a server exposed to the wan. some ideas:

  • disable password auth for pubkey when you can
  • don't use default ports
  • open as few ports as possible
  • be conservative with your firewall allows: this is your server and not a public service

have fun!

When I first read the titile, I thought that the US is going to have to build A LOT to triple global production. Then it occured to me that the author means the US is pledging to make deals and agreements which enable other countries to build their own. Sometimes I think the US thinks too much of itself and that's also very much part of American branding.

Where are my renewable bros at? Tell me this is bad.

Burkina Faso last year experienced two military coups — both triggered in part by discontent at failures to stem a raging jihadist insurgency. More than 17,000 people have died in attacks since 2015, more than 6,000 just since the start of this year, according to a count by an NGO monitor called the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED).

Maybe Russia knows something I don't?

Among the top investors, the government in Kuala Lumpur attracted over $10bn from China-based Risen Energy, which introduced plans to build a photovoltaic cell plant in Kulim Hi-Tech Park in Kedah, in the northwest of the country.

These plants will power the move away from new fossil fuel development

This year, Germany could have significantly ramped up its onshore wind capacity by setting a strong starting point with a volume of more than 7000MW. However, the reduction in the tender volume puts the country behind and sends a false signal to the industry.

Live your best life Germany

this statistic does not account for Tesla loyalists, as three-quarters of Tesla owners indicated that they would continue with EVs.

Some people just like Elon Musk

Analysts doubt that Russia could boost volumes to China to such levels for at least another seven years, according to Russian daily Vedomosti.

Maybe China will be on 100% carbon free energy by then and won't be interested?

...to build solar parks and gas-fired power plants as part of Romania's energy shift.

The good news is that good that Romania isn't a incredibly large consumer of coal in the first place, I suppose.

The final figure will be significantly higher. Asked if the figure was likely to exceed €10 billion, he said: “Yes, we are talking about such magnitude.”

You can't take money with you, but we will leave an atmosphere behind

I learned this morning that if you microwave frozen pancakes for 2 minutes you'll have to throw the plastic plate out

The gene engineering technology they are using could, in just a few generations – a matter of months when it comes to mosquitoes – make every member of the species that transmits malaria here, the Anopheles coluzzii, effectively immune to the parasite.

We need a Final Solution to the mosquito question, not this hogwash

The photovoltaic capacity installed at the plant is the equivalent of 7% of Gerdau's annual energy consumption in the country, based on 2022 production, and provides an estimated reduction of up to 22,000 tCO2 per year.

Gerdau is a steel producer

The German power equipment supplier is struggling with far-reaching quality issues at its onshore wind turbine division as well as potentially loss-making offshore contracts, which have caused its shares to more than halve since June.

I guess Germany will import their wind turbines?
