Win 7 really was the best of them all.

I'm not holding my breath but this could be a huge turning point for the Democratic party where they may finally follow the populism playbook that Bernie started in 2016.

I think what they are trying to ask is why did all the DNC undermining still stop people from voting Bernie. The point being that it came off that he was so popular that even DNC with all their undermining shouldn't have gotten in the way of him winning the nomination.

I got a different take from this article. The economy doesn't really play into the fact that games are so big today because you have to make it bigger than the previous one. Same with the console stats. Gotta make it more powerful. But we are at a point where most people can't see the difference between PS5 and PS4. It's going to be even less obvious when PS6 arrives.

I agree that it's time for a hard reset.

Obviously as a kid I thought the Nintendo of the mid90s was the best. But over the years I've come to realize just how much of a flop that era was.

Still love my N64 collection though and even to this day finding new gems.

I've been playing through Fallout New Vegas for the first time. Got it modded to look modern too so that's been a really nice touch. New Vegas Reloaded is a bitch to get running but so worth it.

Fallout 3 was my very first Fallout and played it way back when it came out, then proceeded to skip new Vegas and played thru 4 back when that one released.

All this time I was time I was like damn, 3 is my favorite only because of nostalgia and actually ran a quick play thru back in April when all the Fallout hype started because of the TV show.

But I also bought New Vegas finally during this hype and am almost done with my first playthrough and wow I get why it's considered the best Fallout game.

The RPG elements are perfection, the stories are so interesting and gameplay is challenging but fair. I'm so glad I can now understand all the hype behind this game.

I'm just one of the oddballs. I never played NV until this year and I've really enjoyed it and I know objectively it's a better game. The reason I choose 3 or NV is simply because I have good memories when I was younger playing a gaming genre id never experienced prior.

I never played 76 or the two originals from interplay. Between 3 NV and 4, it's always hard to top your first. And playing F3 was my first and an experience. I hadn't played the elder scrolls before this and was just amazed with freedom that these open world RPGs gave you. Yeah so gonna have to go with F3 for the sole reason of nostalgia.

Geezus the story isn't ass. I know you prefaced with it just being your opinion, but with a charged comment like that's it's hard not to want to push back.

I asked my brother this who's a huge fina fantasy fan and he says it's the best story wise since 10. 13 is just boring, 15 is so convoluted and bloated. 12 is pretty good but the retread in Ivaice always felt like a cop out. 16 is the most consice FF story wise in years.

Cable is dying and they will do whatever it takes to keep it afloat until the last second

A public lecture from a scientist adding to the conversation. What makes this lecture interesting is he is not disproving that alien life can exist, but instead trying to curb expectations because of the little data we have to back up claims. More importantly is the message that it is important for scientists to be care of biases when discussing this topic.

Kurzgesagt took 4 years to put together this video. It's quite profound if you stick with it, with a great soundtrack. We really have been here in the blink of an eye.

Lemmy is still small and growing, so trying to use your subscribed feed of smaller communities, mixed in with larger communities leaves you with a very uneven feed as your scroll. I like being subscribed to the largest Technology community, but also I am subscribed to the Movies and TV community. One is more active with posts and more comments, and the other is not so much. In this scenario, the current algorithms will always show a feed full of technology posts for pages, and you wont end up seeing Movies and TV until you scroll for a awhile.

I understand that the issues is, "The community isn't active enough". Fair. But could prioritizing smaller communities in the algorithm help these small communities become more active then?

If there was way for the subscribed feed to better spread out all of your subscribed communities over your front page, I think this would help smaller communities get more attention. Plus it would be nice to see my smaller communities showing up at the top of my feed. Instead it shows 5 Lemmy Shitposts, 5 Memes and 5 Technology posts, before I see anything else.

Im no programmer, so Im not going to act like I think this would be easy or possible, but I thought id throw this idea out there and maybe it will get some traction.

Does Spotify have a way to see if your computer is recording with your DAC's stereo mix? And if so, is there a way around it?

I saw someone on Reddit wondering why the community was so sure of Trek going dark again with Paramount not doing so well financially. Seeing the response was unfortunate as most people feel that it might be a bad time for Trek. And I guess it makes sense with the Hollywood strikes as well.

But I was curious what Lemmy thought. Maybe im in denial too but I'm curious if you guys think the worry is warranted.
