I guess that's right. Although I'm (most likely) not a person of interest for any secret service. But the data could be interesting for marketing and insurance companies.

Thanks.
That is what the article is explaining.
The planned improvements are a good thing. I thought we talked about the status right/ until now.
Also: What does it mean then Meta (the company) isn't eager to collect this data (anymore)? This doesn't fit my world view of this company.
I don't think so. Metadata is unencrypted (i.e. your contacts, who sends messages to whom and how often and when).
Messages itself are encrypted.
Am I wrong?
What is my purpose?
It's easy for Tom to do it. He's an immor(t)al operating thetan or something like that after all.
Sounds like social media for a specialised case. Thanks for your explanation.
Eine Kamera im Hemdknopf des potenziellen Investors nimmt alles auf, schon seit fast drei Stunden.

I never never cared about my own or other people's music listening history. And I never talked to someone who does. So I never needed a word for the thing, I guess.
Ich teile deine Ansicht. Das hat mich geärgert, als ich das gelesen hab.
Für den Fall, dass deine Frage nicht rhetorisch ist: ich glaub ein bisschen Opportunismus - er schreibt was die Leser hören wollen. Und ein bisschen kognitive Dissonanz - Selbsttäuschung, damit der Konflikt der eigenen Ansichten mit der wahrgenommen Realität nicht zu unangehm wird.
Hat jemand weitere Erklärungsansätze?
Scrob...what?
Verb scrobble (third-person singular simple present scrobbles, present participle scrobbling, simple past and past participle scrobbled) (Internet slang) To publish one's media consumption habits to the Internet via software, in order to track when and how often certain items are played.
Noun scrobble (plural scrobbles) A datum or the aggregate data collected by this means.
It really depends on the use case. 😏
Hint. Choose an angle !=90° when hurling the rocks.
