Well, that’s good to know. He’s certainly an expert.

I doubt that the steam method will work with knots set in epoxy but I have never tried it.

The height that you set the knot makes a real difference. My Elite Razor brush (shown here has a 24mm HMW badger knot that has the splay and feel of my Thäter (29mm). The Chisel&Hound Fanchurian knots are all 26mm and Rob sets them so they splay well and have that cloud-like feel.

Nice project! I'm just now reading the post so sorry about asking about the knot size earlier. I've only used the sgrdddy method (heat/steam) to remove a knot. I'm not sure it will work with larger diameters though.

Yeah, the simulators are terrific. I have several and I generally put some time in before I fly. For FPV, they are essential.

Nothing like new toys! I have almost given up on RC. If you fly FPV quads, and thermal gliders there's a guarantee you will repair something almost every time you fly. My home shop has been reducing in size over the years as my basement converts into a storage facility for the rest of the family. It is cumbersome for me to do RC building or repairs these days, and I find that I don't miss it much.

There are a number of trails near me and I like to hike; though, this time of year the bugs are tough. The trail bikers are all over them. The modern bikes look well worth it!

Thanks! Will "suggestive sold" me with an ad that offered the towel, a shot glass, and a brandy snifter. What got to me was this photo. I remember thinking how poor the lighting was on the glassware and that I could do a much nicer job of it. Of course, that was a passing thought :)

Ok. Obviously, I know that the Zenith knot was 31mm. Makes sense that you would get as close to that as you could. My largest badger knot is my 29mm Thäter. If I reverse-sort my most-used badger brushes, the top 5 are 27mm and above. I love that cloud-like feel.

What's the knot size on your MOAR BADGER?

I like very much that a benefit of the volkswagen test is that it runs faster. 🤣

Yes. Apparently you can still but Coke in glass bottles. It’s made for Mexico. Old formula, real sugar, glass bottles. I want some!
