Second choice. I'll probably end up buying this :)

First choice for me. Very interested to try this.

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar

  • Razor: River Razors 14 8/8" Full Hollow

  • Lather: Catie's Bubbles - Blugère - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Lavender - Toner

  • Aftershave: Catie's Bubbles - Blugère - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Good shave.

This is a new tub of Blugère and my first time trying the Premium soap base. Because the brush is so new, I can't properly appreciate this. I have soaps in the Luxury base, though, so I look forward to doing a comparison at some point.

This razor needs a new edge. I'm really looking forward to that!

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar

  • Razor: ERN 7/8 Full Hollow Round Point

  • Lather: Abbate Y La Mantia - Don Josè - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Lavender - Toner

  • Aftershave: Ariana & Evans - SoCal Hipster - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Good shave.

Great theme today! AYLM (made in Italy) is certainly among the soaps that are made furthest from where I live. I would have used The Great Bear by Murphy & McNeil, but that tub decided to stop producing lather. Too bad because Ursa Major certainly fits this theme. Both Voyagers have been going since 1977 and both have traveled well over 10 billion miles by now.

Today I made the worst lather I've had in years. I wasn't trying to do this, but it came out of the bowl like one of u/sgrdddy's slurry lathers only wetter and thinner. That I'm using a new boar brush (5 uses now) didn't help at all. It had nothing to do with the AYLM soap. It was just poor work on my part.

Nonetheless, the coticule edge on this ERN performed brilliantly. My actual shave result was excellent; very comfortable and BBS.

I'm not going to propose anything this month. What has been suggested so far looks great to me! Problem is, there can only be one.

This one needs to become more than a sample.

Yeah, I was thinking that I definitely need more soaps ;-)

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar

  • Razor: Iwasaki 13/16" Full Hollow Square Point Tamahagane

  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Smash - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Ariana & Evans - Peach & Cognac - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Excellent shave.

Smash and Peach & Cognac go very well together IMO, and the Tamahagane steel on the Iwasaki takes such an incredible edge. The Zenith B40 keeps marching on. Even though it is only its fourth day, I'm starting to get lather to flow through the brush.

Pretty much an unparalleled shave today.

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar

  • Razor: Parker 510 13/16" Square Point Full Hollow

  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Tobacconist - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Barrister and Mann - Leviathan - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Excellent shave.

This Zenith boar is progressing incredibly well. It had a tiny bit of funk on first use but that's gone. The bristles were stiff but not objectionable on day one also. Now, no funk, and the brush is already beginning to soften.

Tobacco and coffee go so well together. My Leviathan soap was killed long ago, and I only have a couple more uses on this splash. Such an amazing scent.

I liked everything I read on the MacDuffs website. I’m looking forward to trying some of their product.

  • Brush: Zenith B40 28mm Boar

  • Razor: Tanifuji Spalding 0411 6/8" Full Hollow

  • Lather: TTFFC - Campfire - Soap

  • Toner: Thayers - Rose - Toner

  • Aftershave: Fabergé - Brut - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Excellent shave.

I've been missing these tobacco leaf, smokey, nutty, scents. This is a good one I think. Naturally, and as we all know, Brut complements any scent and this one was the vintage Fabergé OG aftershave. However, I think the madern incarnations of the scent might even be better. The only aftershave that I can think of that exceeds Brut is, of course, Shulton Old Spice which has no modern equivalent. Lovely shave today.
