Unfortunately there are many counterexamples, large animals that live long in the wild tend to have shorter lives in zoos, like elephants, hippos, and monkeys.

My personal printer works flawlessly on Linux, except that it cannot be convinced to print double-sided, no matter how deep I dig into the settings. Boils my blood.

Definitely not new. However, in many practical applications you can sorta kinda ignore it (but definitely not all!).

https://filebrowser.org/ just exposes a filesystem you point it at. Never had problems wit this. For syncing you can use syncthing.

Also very much a problem in Europe sadly. Of course not allowed, but pretty hard to detect. There are test that can tell the difference, but they are not accepted by the EU (yet?).
