The number of app ideas I have been pitched in an Uber.

When I was working in software I would tell them I worked for the government and couldn’t talk about it, to avoid saying I worked in software, to avoid being pitched app ideas.

Quitting Amazon was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I started seeing my life as a single, one chance experience without the plague of needing to constantly surround myself with ever changing gadgets.

Quitting Amazon alone didn’t do that for me, but it was a good start.

The thing is, a truck is a tool, or used to be at least. I had an old little Toyota truck. Two seats and could haul as much construction materials or debris as any one person could manage.

These trucks are impossible to work with. Massive cabs that shorten the bed, lifted frames with beds that break your back loading stuff, terrible fuel economy. They’re as much about utility as lacy underwear.
