I was present at several of the protests in Portland that supposedly burnt down the city.

In all cases they were pretty mild until the police escalated. Like people were rightfully pissed but they were largely marches and chants until driven into a corner by riot cops who were all too ready to blanket downtown in tear gas and rubber bullets

There were elements that would go to the justice center and shake the fence and scream at the cops but nothing that justified the national guard showing up. Looting and such always occurred in the chaos ensuing after an extreme attempt to clamp down on peaceful protest.

BRICS really limits the amount of impact a western sanction has. US/Europe isn't the only game in town by a long shot.

(not trying to get into a debate about the merits of such, just talking factually)

I mean Foundation is for people who have no thoughts about women so maybe a slight improvement.

(Half joking?)

That's because it's not controversial and that's why it's so weird we're focused on it.

Minors are in the vast majority of times given puberty blockers at most which is a reversible process.

The focus on this non-issue is to generate controversy and impact hormonal care of minors and all care for adult trans people and everyone keeps falling for it

Nobody is trying to convince trans people they need surgery, it just so happens that it's an effective treatment for dysphoria as has been proven in study after study after study.

It's a choice between the patient and their doctors. Perhaps it's societal, perhaps not. Either way your magical idealism world doesn't actually exist in real life so it should continue to be a practice because it works

Signed, A trans woman who will have some but not all surgical treatments.

That's fair. It's well known in America as it's a big event for a big American holiday that's primarily watched by older, less online people and bored kids at a family members house which is why I bought it up. Local news was talking about the whole phenomenon because if it. But out of that American context you're right that it wouldn't be as meaningful.

It's been around 15 years and Astley did it as part of the Macy Day parade. It's the furthest thing from obscure.

It's probably Windows IOT which is commonly used for signage and displays

Yes which is why it's so important for proper medical care of trans people to be available.

These risks are mitigatable especially with proper monitoring, but if the choice is only between DIY or nothing, then DIY is still the safest option for most even with the risks.
