I got a standup freezer and it saves me so much money in wasted food and store trips. I buy like six loafs of bread at a time, split them up and freeze them. I just put a loaf in my kitchen cabinet before bed if I use the last slice of bread that day. Maybe my taste buds aren’t refined but I can’t tell the difference. I buy a lot of sliced turkey when it’s on sale also and just put them in the freezer. If I use it up I put another bag in the fridge and it’s ready the next day and tastes completely normal. I ended up getting a really nice chamber vacuum sealer from money I saved in groceries a couple months after the freeze paid for itself. Ended up getting a Sam’s membership and do the same with steak, hamburger, and all kinds of stuff really. It’s just me and my two boys full time but I cut my grocery bill from $1k+ a month to $600-$700 a month, making breakfast and dinner every day (they eat lunch at school). I know not everyone has the space and deep freezers are more efficient. I use the standup freezer daily and I always dreaded digging in the deep freeze I had before. It’s been a huge life improvement for us.

I used a website to calculate that for me because I’m an idiot and it all seems like magic to me.

All I have is anecdotal about the US and I only remember due to the annoyance. I’ve moved six times in the last seven years. I have swapped the direction of my dryer door every time because the side hookups were on changed every time. My dryer is currently on the left. Prior to these moves I couldn’t say with 100% certainty but if I try to picture myself in that laundry room I think my dryer was on the left but it isn’t something I paid attention to until I had to swap the dryer door hinges every time I moved since so my dryer door would open away from the washing machine.

Wow. The phone app is awesome. I’m shocked this guy releases it for free.

That game is pretty cool, thank you for sharing. Will go well when I want a break from crosswords.

210 billion is not substantially smaller than 250 billion. Are you intentionally trying to miss the point?

Relative magnitude, really? You’re undermining your own point by not using a representative example and then calling your example a relative magnitude to the others.

210 billion to 250 billion = ~19% increase

75,000 to a million = ~12,000% increase

Nanometer to micrometer = ~99,000% increase

Nanometer to 5 millimeters = ~499,999,900% increase

Did you really just compare the difference between 210 billion and 250 billion to the difference between 14,000 to 75,000 vs millions and one micrometer to five millimeters vs nanometers?
