To call a bunch of countries that rank much higher than the States on quality of life “backwoods” is a pretty wild statement. The U.S. is the proudly unwiped asshole of the developed world.

Did…did Vance just call European countries “backwoods”? He couldn’t possibly have, right? He’s not that stupid…right?

He wasn’t slapping them together even metaphorically. He injected huge amounts of cash that enabled the capable people to do their jobs and which allowed the company to grow. Imagine your job getting a huge donation from someone and then that person went around acting like they were sitting in the cubicle next to yours the whole time and even claimed some of your ideas were theirs.

That’s it. He is a coinpurse that also happens to shout insane racist things on Twitter. Elon Musk is fucking dough-brained moron and one of the big problems with capitalism is how much having money makes it harder and harder to lose the more you have.

I feel like we did this to ourselves over generations, probably even hundreds of years, and it’s purely a fear response based in the fact we can’t help but allow the worst kinds of people to “lead” us.

Moderates are what you get when you essentially selectively breed for those “neurotypical” people who can quietly work 9-5 jobs without complaining(read: standing up for themselves) and who are totally ok with “not rocking the boat” by demanding respect at their workplaces. They’re the people who take twice as long to do anything but they’ll show up at 8:30am like good little zombies and act like their deep burnout is just a fact of life because if it wasn’t then that makes them have to consider doing literally anything about it.

I know too many people in my field who are afraid of their bosses and they are the ones the bosses like even if they do worse work. So us “neurodivergent” people are pushed out of jobs because we even politely ask for a little of what corporate propoganda says it cares about on its “about us” page. You cannot be careful enough with their feelings because they do not care and no amount of being moderate will appease them.

Your point about the debate thing is really what gets me. They ask a question and the person on the other end might be close to the answer or they might give some vague response but the moderators are always gutless about it.

“I asked you this question, answer it or we will assume you have no answer and move on.”

The worst part is that Hitler only killed himself(and his family) because he knew the Russians would never let him die a quick death. It was to save himself, not because he regretted a damn thing or felt an ounce of remorse. These people don’t learn.

The more we head down the drain the more I look to the lives that people in developing nations lead and think “huh, I guess we’re going for equality by making everything worse instead of better. Awesome.”

It’s not gunna be great.

They’re pretty and simple and haven’t historically pushed many boundaries. They’re “safe” games, fairly good to look at, and their worlds can be cool even if the characters and story lack depth.

But at the same time I could not have played them and my life would be no different.

For “some reason” people are more emboldened than ever to come right and be full-on garbage. And they’re shocked when maybe using targetted language, targetted at margainlized groups no less, draws special attention.

Yea, because one has at least a chance of being a genuine opinion and the other is some hate-crime bullshit. Is that confusing?

…but the actual responses that Rook delivers are often a far cry from the perceived intent of the dialogue choice.

From another article I found. Look, I play Origins and I played Dragon Age 2 and I played Mass Effect 2 and…that’s just Bioware. They’re not good at writing dialogue and their games are the Call Of Duty of the Fantasy RPG genre.

I saw one example that it clarified what impact a choice would actually have by saying “this would establish a trans identity” and frankly them not being trusted to write good dialogue so many times makes clunky shit like that kinda necessary. It also suffers from the Tiffany Effect in that “Trans” is not a word that lends itself to immersion in a fantasy world.

Dragon Age games just aren’t that deep and ya’ll need to just admit it.

P.S.: I might still get Veilguard on sale and frankly the game looks like it might be the most interesting that they’ve put out so far. A few clunky attempts at inclusion shouldn’t stop you from buying a game and if it does then I don’t really give a shit about your opinion.

Trump’s numbers have actually so far been worse(I mean, a lot of them fucking died from covid for one).

I highly doubt being a woman was the reason they lost when there are a million very clear and obvious bad aspects to their strategies. There was so much courting of the right you’d think they were the Republicans of 20 years ago and not Democrats.

People still should have voted against Trump but a vote should be for someone you like and not against some you don’t.
