Is it just me or do Lemmy communities tend to skew left wing? Why might this be? in c/[email protected]

To be honest this is why I asked! I came across this platform through a source that I would consider much further right wing than my personal politic views. I was expecting a cesspit, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the opposite :)

I think a lot of the comments have really hit the nail on the head. Never hurts to take a step back and try to detox from the climate of negativity that inundates social media. Go out for a walk, go cycling, touch grass

Politics outside the US can get pretty goofy, but Americans just seem to be on another level... just a shame that we all end up having to deal with the consequences :(
