Tbf it's not very hard to wind up a narcissist like Trump. His ego is vast. And very brittle.
Planned Obsolescence is a real problem. But Intel in this situation is just straight up incompetence.

Whether there were any legitimate targets is entirely inconsequential. They're after a body count. Nothing more. They just wanna stack corpses.
