The amount of people addicted to caffeine who don't even know it is crazy high.

The costs of withdrawing for some are higher than others, so for these people quitting isn't just a day or two of headaches, and possibly their life doesn't afford them the luxury of going through the pain and low productivity

Many factors play into it rather than just low self control, in case you're wondering why you got down voted.

A good chunk of my work is scheduled turning off and on again in the right order so things don't break

This is an unexpected benefit of being in Switzerland. Here I was thinking it was more or less a marketing thing

Legally the product is no longer their priority, maximising shareholder profits is their priority.

Not many companies manage to not get twisted to a worse product for the customers, though their ads get really good

This graph really just makes me think we are fucked, like really fucked, easily in the span of a human life time, if not a few years.

How will this not have crazy knock on effects?

Yet I still go to work and plan for the future and just live my life in some sort of daze. Still tell myself I'll find a wife and have kids one day.

I wonder if I just allow myself to live the ignorance is bliss life, the embodiment of the "this is fine" meme, like so many on this world. Easier just to go with the human flow as we slowly all jump off the cliff like a herd of buffalo.

I feel like I am slowly moving all my data being with Google to Proton. Makes me a bit uncomfortable to be all under one umbrella again.

At least so far it seems they are a decent company

A culture of glorifying tans, mixed with needing a reason to show off your southern cross tattoo, beautiful weather and free public BBQs at parks and beaches.

Remember to slip, slop, slap

Three screens billed as "business expense" actually used as a sim racing rig.

But you will end up filling any screen space you have. When coding I very quickly fill out the space, to see files and folders I am intereacting with, communication apps, websites, IDE, ticket screen. Some days I wish I had 4.

Por que no los dos? Why the urge to dilute it to a black or white issue? Why can't it be the people and the current society? I am a gaming addict, I know it is up to me.to change that and not fall in the hole. Could there also be a society change, of course, but it is not 100% my problem or 100% societies problem.

I can fight my own phyche and make small gains, then spend that spare time to improve my community.

Society is fucked, but we can all try and make it a bit better

Hoping the Foss community can help me explain why it seems keyboards like AnySoftKeyboard haven't been updated for years. Google play - Nov 2021 F-Droid - Jan 2022

The GitHub still seems quite active with changes being made 3 days ago. Is there a reason these aren't pushed to the standard distribution channels? I also looked at FlorisBoard and it seemed to show a similar pattern.

Are there any other FOSS keyboards people can recommend for Android?

I am using Organic Maps but sometimes I would like to view an area with a satellite view. I could go back to google maps for this but I was wondering if the community knew of an alternative.

Went to a festival and had 1 day before the festival started. Hiked up the nearby mountain and was greeted with semi frozen lakes and plenty of snow. Being my first time seeing snow it was an amazing day, even got to slide down some of it on my rain jacket.
