Wrong guy.

Those revelations came to light last night when former Missouri Representative Shamed Dogan (R-Ballwin) tweeted out a screenshot showing the unofficial candidate filing list for governor posted to the Secretary of State's website. On it, Darrell Leon McClanahan III's name sits atop more well-known GOP contenders like Mike Kehoe and Jay Ashcroft.

I am right now sitting on a Steelcase Series 1, and while it doesn't have great lumbar support, it is far better than any shitty $150 "gaming" chair, and is right in your price range brand new.

Each of those (especially the platonic relationship one) would be a different story, even if they would all be first and foremost "love stories."

If the sexual orientation and origin of the characters don’t make a difference in the story, ...

I would argue that the sexual orientation of the characters does make a difference in the story.

They're living in a world with little trust, and they have to overcome that. Neither one can be sure that the other is trustworthy, and won't kill them when they're not looking. And they have to overcome the remaining stigma of same-sex relationships, which could end very badly in the same way. They are both walking through two minefields, in a way which is different from how a similar heterosexual story would play out. Maybe?

It is definitely first and foremost a love story, but it's not only a love story, and looking away from other aspects does a disservice to everyone.

This is especially true if a simulated universe is indistinguishable from base reality - so perfect in all its aspects that it is identical.

You can also get into the fact that we do not and can not objectively experience reality, simulated or not. Our experience and perception is based on the senses we have, which are inaccurate, and the brain that interprets the inputs, which makes shit up and is wrong all the time. Yes, we can use tools and measurements to enhance our perception and make it more accurate as far as understanding is concerned, but we actually each live in a universe manufactured by our own mind.

And vice versa.

And also "shower."

That's what my brain wants to know.

Edit: I know you would die, but I need someone to put together a Mythbusters-esque test with a pig stomach or something.

More important edit: DO NOT DO THIS DUMBASSES

The character Archie Bunker in All In The Family was originally offered to Mickey Rooney, who declined. Carroll O'Connor lived in Europe, and accepted the role only because he thought the show would fail and he could go home, so much so that part of his contract with Norman Lear included a return plane ticket to Rome so that he could fly back when it failed
