Exactly. The Ministry of Truth says _________ (fill in the blank as needed.)

It will sound like a government agency is providing recommendations, but in truth it's whatever Elon says.

It won't have government employees or have to follow government rules. It's just an expensive government contractor with no rules. It won't have to prove itself. Just "the algorithm" that has the answer to any problem. How did it arrive at that answer? Difficult to say, it's proprietary. Assuming any accountability, it won't be uncovered until years after the decision has already been made.

Damn. I assumed you could just pay to win. I'm pretty sure white goes first.

Just pick a religion that has respawns, duh.

Trump will just take no responsibility. He'll blame RFK Jr for all the things that go wrong. Maybe he'll eventually get fired but at that point the damage will already be done. Trump will just say "Ah, he screwed me, I would have done the exact same thing but it would have worked, I'm a smart guy, I'll fix it or appoint someone else to fix it." And then it won't be fixed.

So if RFK Jr. is smart he'll just do a little bit of damage over time. Alternatively if there is a ton of chaos on day 1, then just add to the chaos. People can only be angry at so many things at one time.

Those USA Network shows really were great. Even when one of them ended it was like "That's ok, a new show with loosely the same premise will take it's place". Burn Notice and White Collar being my favorites.

It helps that this show had a finale and didn't just stop an episode short.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

As silly as the question sounds, it was an HBO show.

Along the bottom right you'll see West P[alm] Beach. That's where Mar-a-lago is.

Now by 2075 Trump will be dead, as will likely all of his children except the youngest ones like Baron who will be roughly Trump's current age.

This is also why many "current generation" folks don't care about climate change. They will not be alive to see it, since people just don't live that long.

Basically none of those you hope will suffer the consequences of their actions will.

Looking around online, further rumors seem to lean towards it being a Federation origin film.

That would put us in ENT era, but I don't see them following the existing canon. Maybe following a non-Enterprise ship to recruit an early but non-founding planet. The origin in this case being about how the Federation first expanded.

The other option could be picking up right after First Contact. How mankind adapts to learning about the Vulcans.

I just don't see either of those films getting greenlit.

It was clearly self defense.

  1. The sole or primary purpose of the service is to enable online social interaction between two or more end users;
  2. The service allows end users to link to, or interact with, some or all of the other end users;

The first two rules basically just mean no one can interact. A version of YouTube could exist within these rules.

  1. The service allows end users to post material on the service.

So that's basically the Internet. You can't visit Rotten Tomatoes for film reviews. Maybe you only show the critics score. But aren't they also end users? How about a newspaper? Newspaper has an opinion section. How many opinion writers can you have?

CNN's Kaitlan Collins (Chloe Fineman) checks in with Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph) and Donald Trump's (James Austin Johnson) campaigns on the eve of the 2024 election. Plus a few special guests.

The third season will launch with the first three episodes on February 6, with subsequent episodes dropping every Thursday through March 13.

I just finished Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2, saw an earlier thread discussing earlier episodes, figured it's worth discussing now that it's all out.

Obviously spoilers for season 2.

(I'll dump my thoughts in a comment below.)

So the 2024 Players Handbook (PHB) is set to release in September. I've already bought and paid for the book. In fact I get early access in early September.

However a bunch of YouTube and other folks got the books much earlier and the embargo for them to talk about it lifted in early August.

So now I have to learn piecemeal how the new rules work. I have to hope whatever YouTube video I watch got the rules right. My only reference is random videos.

Luckily someone did write down a rough outline at https://rpgbot.net/2024-dnd-5e-transition-guide-and-change-log-everything-thats-different-in-the-new-players-handbook/

Anyone else find this to be bullshit? It's like Christmas morning for "influencers" but my gifts arrive in a month.

In short if folks know of a good copy of the 2024 PHB I'd love to read it.

Trailer: https://youtu.be/g0f1o-KGWPM

Premiere: Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 9pm Eastern, simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu.

The latest trailer shows scenes from Daredevil (the Netflix series), and Hawkeye (with some implied spoilers).

The series is rated TV-MA, which is the most "adult" rating of a Marvel series to date, but matches the Netflix Daredevil rating.

This is also the first series to premiere under the "Spotlight" brand.

Echo will be the first series under the Marvel Spotlight banner... Just like comics fans didn’t need to read Avengers or Fantastic Four to enjoy a Ghost Rider Spotlight comic, our audience doesn’t need to have seen other Marvel series to understand what’s happening in Maya’s story.

Technically we're not get ANY MCU films in 2024. With all the talk of "superhero fatigue" I'm curious how this will play out.

Currently Deadpool 3 is the only MCU film scheduled for 2024. Deadpool 1 & 2 are not set in the MCU, we can assume Deadpool 3 will bring Deadpool into the MCU.

Outside of the MCU, Sony will bring us Madam Web, Kraven the Hunter & Venom 3.

Also, Sony will bring us the 3rd installment of the animated Spider-Man Spiderverse films.

For completeness sake, DC only has a Joker sequel scheduled.

I fully expect Deadpool 3 to be delayed (to late 2024).

I think no one will talk about Madam Web.

I think no one will talk about Kraven.

I fully expect Venom 3 to be delayed (to 2025).

I hope Spiderverse isn't delayed any further, but I suspect it will be.

Which is to say, we're getting a year off, how do folks think this will affect "superhero fatigue", or perhaps more importantly do you think it will give films time to actually be good films?
