Japanese carmakers were trying to go with hydrogen fuel and did a big grift on their government to get it subsidized. I think the idea was that Japan would have a national disadvantage with EV production as they don't have the material base for batteries but they could have an advantage with hydrogen.
Those failed, or course. Now they're a decade behind - there were only two Japanese EVs sold internationally just a few years ago.

You can't degoogle without using a ROM that degoogles. Google has built itself into the Android operating system by default and replacing it is non-trivial, like using a ROM with microG.
As another commenter mentioned, though, you can partially degoogle in other ways.

It is most in their interest to have an independent foreign policy but they're so stuck in their imperialist wager of extracting wealth from the poorest countries (using the US as the global seat for this regime) it's unimaginable to Euro liberals. They're now so culturally ties to absolute nonsense about "Western values" and xenophobia (racism) that they can't even bail themselves out of this situation.
