While FMLA can be used in the case of a pregnancy you have to meet the following conditions first:

In order to be eligible to take leave under the FMLA, an employee must (1) work for a covered employer, (2) work 1,250 hours during the 12 months prior to the start of leave, (3) work at a location where 50 or more employees work at that location or within 75 miles of it, and (4) have worked for the employer for 12 months.

So basically if you work for a smaller company, or just started, you can't use it.

Also note the per location employee rule. You could have a large nationwide business that purposely keeps the regional employment low in order to circumvent FMLA payouts

I mainly do drip and pour overs and have this Mr. Coffee blade grinder. It's not the most consistent grind but it's pretty good considering the price

Can confirm, my brother laser printer has lasted 14 years and the current toner cartridge was purchased 6 years ago.

To add to this, due to the scale that the major grocery chains operate at, even if you do have a local grocer, baker, etc their prices will be higher than the big box stores

Same here. I like the idea of Lemmy but the decentralization makes it really difficult to find the content I want. Reddits centralization, while causing some problems, definitely made it easy to find communities. That lack of ease is what makes Lemmy not as easy to use for new people.

It's the same where I live. Do I shop local and spend 2-5 times more for the item or buy it from lowes or Walmart? The kicker is that it is sometimes even the exact same brand and model item.

My thoughts on the congressional salary is that it should be a multiplier of the minimum wage and congress can't change that multiplier. They want a raise? Then they have to raise the minimum wage for everyone

My thoughts on it should be that a politician can serve until the full retirement age as defined by the federal government, which is currently 67. Mental decline in later life is definitely a thing and I don't feel like people who are in the age range for mental decline should be running the country.
