I expected him to wake up again and say to himself, "shit I had that dream again where my wife hadn't left me over my triangle." and then plays his triangle while sobbing.

To quote the article.

While the eye-reflection technique offers a potential path for detecting AI-generated images, the method might not work if AI models evolve to incorporate physically accurate eye reflections, perhaps applied as a subsequent step after image generation.

I'm not discouraging AI detection, we will absolutely need it in the future, but we have to acknowledge that AI detection is a cat and mouse game.

you cannot copyright a drawn apple with a piece bitten off

That's correct, you can not do such. Apple does not litigate its logo with copyright but in trademark disputes. Prepear and Georette are examples of this.

You too can create a logo of an apple with a piece bitten off. It's up to a court to decide if it's coming too close to the Apple trademark, most people want to just avoid that and settle amicably, but if you've got to the pocket change to fight it in court, you can argue that your bitten off apple isn't a trademark infringement.

If you find a company that isn't keen to defend their logo, you can totally get away with it. Apple is on the other end of the spectrum of being someone who will protect their trademarks to the bitter end. Jack Daniels and Disney are two more examples of companies that will legally punch a five dollar start up into a bloody mass over trademarks.

Things to note:

  • The Court heard the case en panel. Only three judges heard the case. Plaintiff has asked the case to be reheard en banc, with all the judges present.
  • The Court did not rule on merit. The ban was not ruled Constitutional. Instead the case was ruled on procedure in that Plaintiff had no standing.
  • The 6th District is 6-10 Judges appointed by Democrats vs Judges appointed by Republicans. Of the ten Republican Judges, six are from Trump specifically.
  • The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee case is still on-going. There the Judge has ruled a temporary injunction on the law.

Are you perhaps looking for something like this? Or something else.

That said, learning the terminal commands is a much better path. You'll develop a richer understanding of the various tools with repetition.

The thing is when gasoline is used to power a car about 80% of the energy is loss to heat and only about 20% is used to actually move the car on average. It’s worse when you are doing acceleration and better when cruising at a steady speed on a level surface.

Google web services take advantage of an API that only Google knows about.

Completely unsurprising. Google should have been given the anti-trust treatment long ago. There's not a saving us because the ones to save us are completely complicit. And people who write independent browsers will be smacked back down by having places like YouTube throttle them.

This is the thing we found out way back in the 1500s and 1600s. The various teams don't play nice with each other. The only reason they are accepting of one another at the moment is common enemy. The second that State religion is permitted, South Baptist and Catholics are going to be kicking each other's teeth in.

There's a shit ton of money to be had in the church. No one is going to let some other team take it willingly. They will absolutely eat each other and in the process wreck collateral damage unlike anything anyone has seen since the 17th century. That's not guessing, that's like a for sure outcome. We've got a little under 20 centuries worth of history that tells us what the outcome is every time.

High inflation: I'm losing money faster.

Low inflation: I'm losing money slower.

That's how it should be read.

Despite negative perceptions on the state of the economy, people are losing money a lot slower than its June 2022 peak of losing a shit ton of money per quarter.

and is doing it likely as someone who is horribly misguided

This is Abigail Disney. She's rich but she's not the brightest crayon in the box politically. Her PhD is in philosophy and her dissertation was about the role of romanticized violence and war in American life. Her lists of philanthropy is what one would expect from a run of the mill rich person level activism. Tossing money at the high level stuff, never diving deeper to the root of the problem.

I'm not dissing the lady, but she absolutely falls into the misguided on this aspect.

A post that Mr. Trump circulated on Sunday called for Liz Cheney to be prosecuted by a military court reserved for enemy combatants and war criminals.

Included in the list of people to be brought up for war crimes against the United States were Current President Joe Biden, Current VP Kamala Harris, former VP Mike Pence, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger and Representatives Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, Pete Aguilar, Zoe Lofgren and Bennie Thompson.
