Even a glance at US history would show you that 3rd parties do not exist because when they do, one party collapses into a new 2 party system. Whigs, federalists, antifederalists are all parties that no longer exist. We had a 3 party system multiple times, but the issue is inherently that the system encourages 2 parties and no more.

The US political system is not other countries. How come people on this site are all about understanding systems except when that system stands in their way? How come so many people are experts on US politics and the political landscape therein without having studied it literally ever in their life? It's honestly getting to be infuriating how little yall know and how far you think that knowledge seems to extend.

Yes... well, sorta. For example, AI was found to be better at identifying TB than medical doctors. The catch here is that it also falsely diagnosed st a much higher rate than doctors. When an investigation was done as to how the AI was evaluating the imaging that it was given, they found that sets of virtually indistinguishable images were given different diagnoses by the AI. In many cases where there were no visible indicators of TB, a positive diagnosis wss given. The reason for this is that the AI was not weighting their TB diagnosis based on markers that doctors would look for alone, but also the age of the machine. Older machines have a much greater chance of being located in developing countries where TB is both more common and more deadly, leading to the age of the machine being considered an important factor, whereas a human would know that the age of a machine has absolutely zero relationship with the chance of getting TB, and doctors in these areas are already aware of and watching out for TB as it's a much more serious illness than in Germany, for example.

To expand on this, it's laughably stupid because it disproportionately affects the poor. When everybody pays the same tax, poor people have to be taxed significantly more. Same rate of taxation on 35k and 200k, the person earning 200k can easily afford things like food and housing and a luxury car whereas the person making 35k would be pressed just to afford the increased prices on things like groceries and other necessities that tariffs bring. Not to mention that a 10% tariff would not support our budget, and that tariffs are intended to boost domestic manufacturing. When that does occur, the budget starts getting less and less because the US is no longer raking in the tariff cash.

Basically, 20 seconds of thought could tell anybody that this is a terrible idea.

The incumbent has claimed repeatedly that there will be 10% tariff on all foreign goods. We can certainly bury our heads in the sand and pretend it's not happening, but that doesn't really do us much good.
