Interesting. As with most microsoft products, it remains to be seen how effective this will actually be. Still, it's indicative of what the technology is capable of.

Idk, but you would think they would have invested in a better system, especially because they’re handling sensitive data related to people’s health.

I wonder, does HIPPA apply to data collected by 23&Me? I would imagine so because it’s health related.

[…] about 5.5 million people who opted-in to 23andMe’s DNA Relatives feature, which allows customers to automatically share some of their data with others. The stolen data included the person’s name, birth year, relationship labels, the percentage of DNA shared with relatives, ancestry reports and self-reported location.

Well, that’s just great.

The article also says that hackers were selling the data for up to $10 per account.

Interestingly, 23&Me also just updated their terms of service a couple days ago too.

The last I heard, @hariette couldn’t add kbin.social to Artemis until the API was released and the instance updated to have it.

It also looks like hariette took a short break from Artemis for personal reasons, but returned recently and even replied to a comment about enabling mbin instances for the app.

Perhaps once ernest formally enables the API, hariette will be able to update Artemis accordingly? Just my guess.

Not yet - Ernest is working on it but is dealing with some issues in his personal life first.

Yeah, I read that this was supposed to happen this week, but so far I have not heard about any updates.

I fully support ernest and harriet each taking their time to do it right, though. A bad update is worse than a delayed one.

Yeah, I know next to nothing about programming a social media website or making an app so I want to be patient; I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of work this takes.

I know ernest is working really hard to make sure the update goes exactly as planned and that takes time. I also know that it’s a lot of work for harriet too on the Artemis side of things.

Kbin (and kbin.social) is slated for a major update this week that is supposed to bring in some improvements as well as the API.

My question is, How long after this update will it take for kbin.social to be added as an option for Artemis?

Just wondering - the app is great and I know I am not the only one really appreciating all the hard work going into it!
