We made it through the Recession and COVID-19, but now people are in agony? No fucking way. They chose fascism because they are awful.
I can't really blame the Democrats. The public is who failed. The Democrats ran a sane adult. That alone should have been enough to beat Trump.
It's true that there are still a lot of votes to be counted, but I am sceptical they a high enough portion will got to Harris to disprove my point.
There are about 158 million people voting this election and 140 million or so ballots have been counted so far. If a full 60% of the remaining votes go to Harris, Trump's vote total would still be less than Biden's in 2020.
In 2020, Biden got 80 million votes and Trump got 74 million.
In 2024, Harris got 68 million voted and Trump got 72 million.
My take is basically 10+ million people who voted for Biden stayed home rather than vote for Harris. For some reason they couldn't bring themselves to vote for either. There was no reason that they cared about where one was better than the other.
Convict him, lock him up, and tell Vance "If you leave him there you get to be the president."

I think it can be said that from around 1953, with the inception of the Warren Court til now, the US has been progressing away from authoritarianism. That exception to the rule is over. We are diving head first back in.
We will never see progress again towards racial, economic, sexual or gender based rights. The fascist right has control of the presidency, house, senate, and judicial. They will gerrymander the whole government and demolish any legal tool meant to check their power. We lost for good. Representative democracy is dead. The Constitution is dead. It's over.
Fuck that. Crank that shit into high gear. Put him in jail and tell Vance "If you let him rot in there, you get to be president".
Think outside the box.
You don't win against someone who is cheating by playing fair.
