You're right. It is, at least, something.

"One particular point of contention for Downey Jr is Musk's obsession with Mars colonization. The actor didn't mince words when he stated, "This idea of, 'It's all okay because we've gotta get to Mars,' doesn't really hold water with me." It's a striking criticism that cuts to the heart of Musk's most ambitious projects."

Of all of the thing's Techbro has said and done, his fakey mars ambitions are a particular point of contention for RDJR? The nazi stuff is ok, but him pretending we're all going to mars so we don't have to care about Earth that parts the real issue? I hope this is just editorialized and out of context.

lmao I'm sorry I am 100% for gun regulation but this some big boomer energy and NOT the way to appeal to youth. If the intent is to say "Hey, we have no idea about what you are into but we are pretty sure we know better than you. Go to your room! No video games for a week!" then it's probably working.

In hindsight, the sites and services yahoo offered self imploding before they became fully enshittified is actually not the worst outcome.

Cyberpunk, as a genre of fiction, was supposed to be a warning and not an instruction manual.

It is a nail biter. The conservatives have gone from getting 2% of the popular vote to 44%. There are a lot of grievances right now. And the incumbent party has been in power for a long time and there's a natural tendency here to alternate between parties so there's pressure from people who don't have as much specific desire for any given policy but just sort of vaguely feel like things would be better if we shook things up.

The votes are so close right now that we won't know the outcome until closer to Oct. 26th when we expect all the mail in ballots to have been received and counted.

I don't think they care at this point. They can say and do anything and just say it's a conspiracy.

Currently I have a 40 inch LG that I bought so long ago that I don't even remember, but with where I sit to view it reading text it a little difficult for me. Playing games on it is more or less a no go. I'd also like to upgrade to hdr and enjoy some 4k movies on a display that will let them shine. Accurate colours are something that is more important to me than not. My budget would be CAD $1000-$2000. I sit about 3m away from where the tv would be mounted and I don't have the best eyesight so leaning on the larger side would be better?

I find looking up recommendations on youtube to be pretty difficult. There are a lot of channels that talk about them but they end up only really recommending stuff out of my price range or they conflict with what other people had said about those tvs. Some people recommend the more budget oriented options, others say to stay away like the plague!

Edit: One hard requirement is that it must be usable if it's not connected to any network. The television will NEVER connect to the internet. If I need to connect it to get past a nag screen that is a deal breaker. For all intents and purposes, it will be a dumb tv. As dumb as I can make it. As dumb as they come.

I'm looking to be able to store assets that I've created and purchased (both 3d models and images, potentially audio in the future) on my nas and would love to be able to use something to browse them and filter or sort them based on what kind of usage license I have for them. So if I'm doing a commission I can filter out the "personal use only" assets available. As the primary use is for visual arts assets, large preview images would be perfect. Teeny tiny icons not nearly as useful when browsing through image elements to find something you like.

I'm really looking for a self hosted option, ideally one with a docker container available but I could also spin up a virtual machine to host it if required.

Does anyone know of something that would fit the bill?
