And that does it for the season. I still can't help but feel like this whole season was simply a prologue, that we just now met the true antagonists (these shuuki gods) and that the protagonist just now got his real motivation for the story (helping his sister). I know that there is a lot more story where this came from in the source, so I am probably going to check that out. So, in that respect, the show did its job in that it was good enough to get me to spend money on the source.

Overall, I am satisfied with the show. It definitely had some rough patches when it came to animation, but the story was interesting enough to keep me watching. I think something that this story did well was having a traditional harem setup, but keeping all the girls interesting. Their whole motivation is not just to win over Yuuki, but they each have their own stories going on as well. This season ended on a climax for Kyouka as her revenge story draws to a close, only to open up to the next chapter of her story, becoming the Supreme Commander.

No season 2 announcement yet, but if it ends here, I think it was an overall satisfying conclusion. If you got this far watching the show and want more, the manga is out there.

I kinda dropped the show, but yeah, go enjoy the manga, it's legitimately only uphill from here.

Narratively, and probably artistically, as well. The anime had its moments and I might finish off the last few episodes to see if there were some more, but generally the art and animation in the adaptation, though not bad, didn't impress half as much as the panels of the manga do. It's worth a read just to see Tenka start referring to Aoba as sister-in-law.

If we do get a second season, I really really want it to be with a larger budget, enabling production to aim for greater quality and more closely matching the detail level and lineart of the manga.

Honestly, the budget the show got is just too low. None of the fight scenes is even bearable. They put all there eggs in the echi stuff; but as a manga reader, I am disappointed the the story / action got no room to shine at all.

I agree. For the newly announced season 2, they really need to up the production of either the action side of the show or the ecchi side (ideally both). The action was pretty lackluster most of the show and the ecchi seemed almost censored in the first half the season. The story knows what it is, they should lean into it.

I enjoyed the series. I hope that the success convinces the producers to invest a bit more on the second season. The first one suffered in some aspects, specially the action scenes.

On the episode: I agree with wjs018, it was a satisfying conclusion. It could be a better episode, but good enough to wrap the season up.
